I try my best
to be curious.

I’m a Colombian designer based out of Brooklyn, NY, trained at the Pratt Institute where I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. While in school I was co-founder of Latin Pratt a student-led organization aimed at opening an unedited space for discourse on the emergence of Latin American architecture.  Together with my classmates, we were able to garner participation of over 45 practicing offices. We curated their built and un-built work to design and install the first and largest ever exhibition on emerging and established Latin architects titled: Breaking Borders.

After graduation I continued pursuing my desire to rekindle with my Latin heritage and moved to Miami to begin my career as an apprentice draftsman and fabricator at GUILD. While learning from colleagues with wide ranging roles and experiences including architects, sculptors, fabricators and entrepreneurs I meticulously crafted many of the creative tools I use to this day. In Miami I learned the need for collaboration and found an obsession with ephemeral architecture. The kind of fast-paced, design+build projects in which I participated served as creative labs and helped me harness invaluable experience and skills. My journey at GUILD brought me back to New York where I became part of a team of experiential designers and continued working on projects of larger scales and scopes for brands such as Red Bull, Versace, Vogue, Marimekko, Google, Vice, Simon Properties, Howard Hughes among some. My role as lead designer on these award winning projects taught me the value of brand equity and awareness.

Due to an unexpected turn of events my career then shifted to the client side and after a three year tour at GUILD I started freelancing for Estée Lauder. The position required constant communication with teams in Latin America and once again the desire to be close to home motivated me to join the Clinique store design team. My curiosity and aptitude in quick learning were key in allowing me to shift my design thinking and absorb a new set of knowledge and skills in the world of visual merchandising. Currently as Design Manager I engage daily with an inter-functional team of marketing, business, construction, and creative professionals throughout Latin America. With intrepidity, passion and curiosity I try my best to continue instigating and inspiring synergy and interaction through my work.
